After growing up in Southampton, England and playing his youth football with Salisbury City and Eastleigh, Prince-Wright moved to the U.S. and was a four-year starter for the University of Pittsburgh's varsity soccer team,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/princewright_joe00.html )〕 helping the side to a Big East Conference playoff appearance during his Sophomore year in 2008. Playing mainly as a midfielder, he is known for his tough-tackling style of play and leadership abilities. He made 66 appearances for the Blue and Gold. The midfielder was also a three-time Big East Academic All-Star during his time with the Panthers and completed several internships with ESPN Radio 1250 Pittsburgh, Root Sports and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
